Thereza — Accredited Counsellor, Hythe

Hello, I’m Thereza, a BACP-registered accredited counsellor based in Hythe, offering integrative counselling in a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel difficult, and I aim to provide a space where you feel safe, heard, and accepted from the very beginning.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or struggling to make sense of your thoughts, emotions, or relationships. Whatever has brought you to counselling, you do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can work together at your own pace to better understand your experiences and what you need moving forward.

I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including anxiety, trauma, OCD, grief and loss, low self-esteem, stress, relationship difficulties, family issues, and neurodiversity-related challenges. I also have experience supporting survivors of domestic abuse, which has strengthened my trauma-informed approach and understanding of how past experiences can affect emotional wellbeing, relationships, self-esteem, and everyday life.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and practical tools to tailor therapy to your individual needs. Depending on what feels helpful for you, this may include grounding techniques, emotional regulation strategies, psychoeducation, mindfulness-based approaches, creative and visual tools, reflective exercises, and practical coping strategies that can support you both within and outside of sessions.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I understand that therapy can feel vulnerable, particularly if trust or emotional safety has been difficult in past relationships, and I aim to create a calm and respectful space where you feel supported and in control of your own process. I work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, helping you explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns while developing greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in managing life’s challenges. I believe therapy should feel supportive, empowering, and adapted to your individual needs, rather than relying on a standardised approach.

Whether you are seeking short-term counselling for a specific issue or longer-term therapy for deeper personal exploration, my aim is to support you in making sense of your experiences, strengthening your relationship with yourself, and creating meaningful, lasting change. I hope to help you feel more connected to yourself, more able to cope with life’s challenges, and more confident in moving forward.

I offer counselling in person in Hythe as well as online therapy sessions.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their ethical framework.

Carly — Integrative Counsellor & NCPS Member, Hythe

Hi, I’m Carly.I’m an integrative counsellor specialising in trauma and the ways it can impact how you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others. I also have a strong understanding of ADHD and neurodivergence, working in a neurodiversity-affirming way that respects and values difference.

I work in a trauma-informed way, recognising how past experiences can shape our lives. I also incorporate an awareness of the nervous system, understanding how stress and trauma can impact the body as well as the mind. Where appropriate, we may gently explore grounding techniques and regulation strategies to help you feel safer, more balanced, and more connected within yourself. Emotional safety, collaboration, and empowerment are central to my practice, and I aim to ensure you feel in control of your therapeutic journey.

I offer a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, breathe, and feel truly heard. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, so I prioritise creating a relationship built on trust, safety, and genuine human connection.

I work with individuals aged 16 and over, supporting young people and adults through a range of emotional and life challenges.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor the work to you as an individual. I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” model of therapy. Instead, I adapt my approach depending on your needs, personality, and goals. This might include reflective exploration, practical coping tools, psychoeducation, or deeper therapeutic work — always at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

I have experience supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and ASD, and I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way. I value difference and recognise that there is no “right” way to think, process, or experience the world.

Alongside this, I support individuals navigating relationship difficulties — whether with partners, family, friends, or themselves. I also work with grief and loss, offering a compassionate and steady presence as you process complex emotions and life transitions.

I am a registered member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and work in accordance with their ethical framework. This means I am committed to maintaining high professional standards, ongoing supervision, continued professional development, and working safely, ethically, and in your best interests at all times.

As a counsellor, I am reflective, grounded, and committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my work remains ethical, responsive, and compassionate. My intention is to create a space where you feel accepted as you are — and gently supported to grow in ways that feel meaningful and authentic to you.
